Yipeeeee! I won a box of doughnut!!!!

I am really surprised to know that I've won a box of doughnut from Krispy Kremes, courtesy of Chrissie's wonderful blogsite!

Last thursday, while I was surfing some other bloggers' site, I just stumbled upon Chrissie's blog titled Kitchen Cow! It was so interesting that I already read all her posts and found out that Krispy Kreme is having a contest which is Krispy Kremes Sweetest Dad Daily Doughnut Giveaway!

The criteria: To win, simply tell us what’s the sweetest thing you’ve done (or are planning to do) for your Dad and you’ll be included in a daily drawing for donuts. And if I love your answer, you automatically get another raffle slot, doubling your chances to win.

Without second thought, I said to myself that I have to tell the whole world what a wonderful Father is my Tatay!!! All comments inspired me as well (how we love our tatay/daddy or whatever you call your father)! And here it is my thought of my father:

my tata (short for tatay) is a very generous man and a good provider. he’s not even a high school graduate but still he sacrificed just to put us in private school and supported us until we graduated in college. even though he’s not that affectionate with his children, we do know that he really loves us.

we can never forget father’s day because it is also the day that we have to save money for my tata’s birthday which falls every 22nd of June. all the usual celebration with pancit, some ulam and the all time favorite videoke!

i remember during my highschool days. i really have to save money from my baon just to have presents for the birthday of my tata. but unfortunately he was hospitalized and have to stay there until he’s okay. i was saddened that he’s not around home, and i asked my mama to accompany me at the market and buy something special to cheer him up! i bought a leather wallet because i thought then that he needs a new one badly (smiling wallet it seems)! i was glad to know he liked it and he gave me a big hug because of that! *wink*

I really hope to win (crossed fingers) this box of donuts just to share it with my family on june 22 on his birthday!!!

much love,

elsa

The Three Commandments of DIY Pedis

Hello!!!

Before I take off for my Cavite travel, just want to share with you some tips that I've read from Allure. It's all about FEET! Although our feet may seem strong, they are in fact fragile and must be treated with care. This is a part of our body that we always neglect, overused and murdered!!! I myself will attest to that because I've been neglecting mine too... with all the travel and shopping... I've grown a lot of dry skin, callous and spider veins (Sowee Feet)! And now, I promise my every dependable feet that I will take care of them from now on... no tight shoes, no uber high heels, no long walks (yikes!) and yes to foot massages, yes to foot products!

Here are some tips to help you start off every day on the right foot.

DIYpedicure3.jpg

Thou shall prep your feet. A good pedi doesn't entirely depend on your skill with a foot file. Schaeffer suggests massaging a product specifically designed to soften calluses and tough skin before you even exfoliate, just like my favorite East Village nail tech always does for me. She uses professional-grade callous remover, but OPI Soften ($30)—with AHAs and green tea—is great for at-home use. The dead skin will disappear with a lot less effort.

Thou shall know when to moisturize. I always put foot cream on right before bed, because I hate the feeling of walking on the floor with lubed-up feet. My approach is dead wrong. "Apply foot cream as soon as you get out of the shower," says Schaeffer. Massaging cream onto your feet after the shower gives the moisturizer something to work with.

Thou shall then slip on socks. "Wearing socks helps your foot cream go even further," says Schaeffer. The nourishing agents will cradle your feet as you go about your business. Again, look for cream like Bliss's Foot Patrol ($26) that exfoliates and hydrates.

Be honest with yourself: Have you been doing all of the above? If not, start. Your feet will be in much better shape when you pull them out of your boots and into your sandals for summer.

Here are some of Foot products/tools you might want to try!

Margaret Thatcher apparently swears by The Body Shop's Peppermint Foot Lotion, ideal for a relaxing massage.

Z.E.N. Zestful Energetic Natural - Cocomint Foot Lotion
After soaking, apply thinly to feet, it ensures that your feet will have an anti-microbial film that also acts as shield for socks/shoes-borne pathogens. Also apply bedtime. It’s a healthful habit to rid your body’s terminals of any remaining potentially harmful microbes.

There are a lot of products to choose from but all end with a HAPPY FEET!!!!

Marian All Dolled Up!!!!

Hellow peeps!

Happy Mid-week! (if there's such a thing)

It's been a very busy mid-week and tomorrow I'll be out of town till friday. I have to go back to Manila for my father's birthday and father's day!
Anyweiz, have you seen the June 2009, 14th anniversary issue of Preview Magazine where Marian Rivera is on the cover, all dolled up like a Barbie Doll (She's celebrating her 50th birthday, still gorgeous noh?)?!
Gosh, she looked really gorgeous isn't she? We all know that Barbie is so very sexy and Marian portrayed it really well. FYI, I am not an avid fan of Marian Rivera, I was not even a follower of her telenovelas and for me she just sucks with acting (peace!). But one thing I really like about her is her flawless skin! I could die just to have that kind of skin you see! She really was blessed to have a smooth, velvety, porcelain skin, don't you think?!

Pink is so her color and the lashes was cute in its length! Petite and small waisted, haist! I am so envious!!!
I hope someday I could look like Barbie (hahahah!).

Here are some of Marian Rivera's looks!

Independence Day + Hauling + NOTD

It's another Monday!!!

And I really missed blogging!!! Heavy schedule within the weekend!

Last Friday, we celebrated the Independence Day at the Luneta Grandstand, our office and other government agencies was tasked to have an emergency employment for our fellowmen. The event was a success because of the turnout of applicant:job ratio. Here are some of the pix that my friend Joepep took during the event.

I also got myself some hauling last Saturday and I am loving the lippie shade that I bought from Everbilena and some stuff from The Body Shop.

These are the shade of the blush and the lippie (golden terracotta nuance blush and Mauvey) *without flash!

*with flash (lookie, lookie)

I also got the facial massager!

The Body Shop said:

Best if you want to: Stimulate your skin and encourage the absorption of moisturizers with this ingenious mini massager.

How it works:
  • Nodular design ensures an in-depth massage of the skin without dragging or damaging delicate skin tissue.
  • Massage helps to stimulate the skin's circulation, improving skin's natural radiance.
  • Handle made from renewable bamboo wood.
O diba? ang cute!!! looks like a paint roller brush hihihi!!!

And I was able to updo my nails into a polka gift wrapper *wink*, cutie, cutie!!!!

My weekend was such a blast but it really is an accomplishment!

That's all for now folks!

Till next time!

Keep on smilin', God bless!!!
