Nail Post: Disney Princess Water Decals

This is so cuteee! Who doesn't love Disney Princess?  Actually the moment I saw this at the store my heart skipped a beat and no hesitations put it on my basket.

In this shot I have not yet put on a top coat that's why you can see that it still lifts from my nails.  My favorite is Jasmine.  I really love her!

And last week on our Fab your nails challenge with the theme girly I submitted this entry:

It could also pass the Dot challenge too hehehe!  That's all for now.

Food Post: My Coconut Macaroons

As I write this post, I am giggling just looking at this beautiful coconut macaroons!  I am so happy with my macaroons because it is so delicious that I ate five to six pieces.  I also brought this goodies in our office and viola!  it's gone in a minute!

It was perfectly baked with the right golden brown look.  It was so chewy and not too sweet perfect for selling (LOLz).

This macaroons is so easy to prepare with not so many ingredients to find, only the basic:  desiccated coconuts, sweetened condensed milk, flour, butter, vanilla and egg... that's it!

Really,  office mates asked me if I can deliver, I just blushed at the thought they really liked my piece.  I am so proud to have come up with these.

Have a nice Tuesday y'all!

Nail Post

Whew!  What a week?!  Uber loaded with work and I can't find time to post on this blog.  Even if I had a long week-end (because of the two day holiday), I am getting out of breath with so many things to do.  I can feel that I am ready to explode but thanks to my prayer warriors (my office mates) who were there to support and pray with me in times like this. :)

Enough of my rants hehehe!  I just want to share with you my nails I did during the past week. I was even surprised that I can still do this.  I really have to do it in a hurry hehehe!

Excuse the hubby at the back. LOLz

This one is a simple nail art design.  I used Sally Hansen (White), Elianto Polish (Red) and glitter polish with stripping brush.

I made mention in my last post that I actually hoarded lots of water decals.  And here's one of them, Pink Rose Petals water decal.  Easy to apply and you're ready to go!

And  I want you to meet my favorite among the litter.  Hubby named him Redford White!  All white and so furry!

Redford White
BTW, congratulations to all the new Nurses in the Philippines! :)

That would be all for now.  God bless us all!

Nail Post: Foils

I bought (again!) some nail stuff last Sunday.  Yes, nail foils and a lot of water decals! Nail foil is a favorite because I use this when I am in a hurry.  I just need to have clean nails, adhesive, nail foil, and top coat and I am good to go.

I chose gold dust, leopard prints and zebra prints.  I am excited to use this right away!

I excitedly put on the leopard print.  I love it!

Though I needed a little more practice putting nail foils, I am happy with this anyway.  See the bald spots?  Hehehe, I learned that I have to wait at least 3 minutes for the adhesive to become transparent so the nail foil will adhere more to the nail.

I also got water decals in different designs.  Here I just took a picture of what I am going to give to a friend.

Wait for my other post using my favorite designs! :)

Have a blessed Wednesday lovelies!

Polvoron

Yes, I am one proud seller of Polvoron here in our office. Though it may consider a small business, this really helps a lot when I need extra money to buy things for my hobbies like nail polish and make up.

Not only Polvoron or cup cakes but anything I can find saleable, I offer to my office mates!

My Polvoron is made out of the usual ingredients such as All Purpose flour, Powdered Milk, Sugar, Butter and Vanilla. If you want you may want give variants to your Polvoron by adding Oreo cookies, Rice Crisps or Chocolate Chips.

I am using a small Polvoron moulder that I bought at SM Department Store and wrapped it in clear cellophanes cut in small squares. I sell these 3 pieces in a pack for only 12 pesos. :)

My Oreo flavored Polvoron.

The plain ones which is my favorite.

Neatly packed and ready for selling.

Goodness in small bites.

Try making this at home, it's so good you can not stop popping this into your mouth.

Warning:  Can cause addiction!

** Please help Filipinos pray that typhoon Helen would slow down and move to different direction.  God bless us all.

Color Club Dry Ice Rapid (?) Nail Lacquer Dryer

As a nail art enthusiast, I have to look for the best quick drying solution for my nails.  I had tried several, some cheap and some are way above my budget limit.  Buying again top brand like OPI is not an option for me, I am not rich and I have something else to buy that is more important than this.  And buying cheap brand like Bobbie is like hitting your head on the wall... waste of money.

I searched for the quick drying solution and last, last Saturday (yes that long! Uber lazy to do post.) I was able to spot Color Club Dry Ice.  I got excited.  The Sales Person really did her job well and made me buy the item quickly.  For 420 Pesos or 10 dollars I get hold of the solution.

It says:

The finale' to a perfect manicure or pedicure, this extremely fast-drying formula penetrates all layers of polish in UNDER a minute.

DIRECTIONS:  Wait one minute after applying Color Club top coat, then simply apply one drop of Dry Ice to each nails... and away you go!

Yes, I have just lost my money for this buy.  I followed the instructions to the T, except in applying Color club top coat, I used top coat from Elianto instead.  It didn't dry in UNDER A MINUTE, but an hour!

I don't know if I had put on thick two coats of my chosen polish or didn't use THEIR top coat.  I am totally disappointed with the result.  I needed the solution because I only get to do nail art at night because of my busy schedule in day time.  And I need to dry my polish QUICK as I want to sleep early too :(

If I had known I should have bought the one from China Glaze instead despite the heavy to pocket price.

I will just use this for those days I am not in a hurry to dry my nail polish though.  Sad....

Still, happy Friday everyone!

NOTD and some nail stuff

The sun still doesn't shine here for the past two weeks.  There is no typhoon though (thank God!) but the atmosphere is gloomy and I want to stay in bed the whole time if not for the job at stake he he he!

And what to do when it's raining outside but to do nail art.  I am now happy I am growing my nails fast.  Long nails can do justice with beautiful nail colors right?  This one I will show is just a simple one.  I had light color put on the four fingers and a dark color one for my ring finger.

Showing here is the Color Club Dry Ice
I love the color combo!  I used Dashing Diva and Elianto polishes.
I also had bought some nail stuff.  Aside from the Color Club Dry Ice where I get a big time disappointment, I got a buy one get one item from Sally Hansen!  I really am glad that I had the chance to get the last piece, :)  The Sally Hansen Dry Kwik and Double Duty.  I will blog about my disappointment with Dry Ice and rant about the Dry Kwik from Sally Hansen in another post.

See it's for free!
I also bought these Bobbie Magnetic Polishes.  Epic fail on these two.  Magnets on polishes was so week it didn't budged at all! Grrrrr.....

Still hoping the sun shine this week.  And I am praying for the flood to subside quickly.   Happy Monday everyone!

Monday Nelllzzzz (Nails)

Do you know I am excited doing my nails on Sundays?  Because the next day is a Monday!  And during Mondays we have our Flag Ceremony here at the office and we do the Panunumpa sa Watawat.  I am being boastful "mayabang" at my office mates, I want them to see what my nails look like :) and get praises on how beautiful my nail polish is. Hahahahah!  So much of me being mayabang, here's my NOTD:

Sorry, me being so excited took pictures without even cleaning the sides

My nails looked like they have fresh wounds
but don't worry, I just put little of that red liquid called merthiolate.

I used Sally Hansen's Black Out and the glittery specks on top is a gift from Johanne.  I love how it glitters, it can be orangey indoors and a beautiful green under the sun!  So sad that Iphone can't capture such loveliness.

Hoping everyone a great day!

Maybelline's HyperSharp Liner

New loots from Maybelline!  I am running out of my favorite mascara from this brand last week so when I got the chance to sneak at SM Makati right after my hubby's graduation, I went at Maybelline's counter right away.

While looking at the counter, one got my attention.  The Maybelline's HyperSharp Liner in color black.  It sells at 399 pesos or at least 9 dollars.  The super attentive sales person explained to me that this is one of their very salable products because of its staying power.

My ever favorite mascara, Magnum Volume in Black and the HyperSharp Liner

Love the precision of the brush of this liner
Super fine line and can be built depending on what thickness you like

The sales person tested the product on me and after hours of window shopping and commuting home with the humidity and all it did stayed on my oily eyelids.  NO SMUDGING, NO BUDGING.  It dried faster than I thought after application.  This liner can be easily removed by soap and water or any make up remover.

I also tested this without a primer, but it didn't stay that much long.  With my uber oily eyelids it failed me on that.  So one (specially those with oily lids) must use a primer when using this liquid eye liner.

Happy  Saturday!

Better Version of my Corn Muffins

Last night, I made another batch of corn muffins.  This time, it really is something I can be proud of and most likely to be compared with Kenny Rogers Corn Muffins.

Same recipe with the one I last made but I had to modify some step by step procedure.  First I combine wet ingredients in a medium bowl then on another bowl the dry ingredients.  I also made the butter and sugar creamed a little longer, it made my muffins much tastier.  I also used full cream milk from Magnolia.

I also bought an oven thermometer too which costs me almost 250 pesos to make my baking more precise.  Maybe that's also why my corn muffins turned out much better.

Lastly, I used paper cups instead of butter spray.  Here's the difference of the two muffins in appearance!

The first muffin is flat and lifeless nyahhha!

The first I made did not rose beautifully unlike the one I made last night!  I really should use paper cups all the time.

Beautiful isn't it!  And delicious too!
This batch I made 12 regular sized Corn Muffins!  And I am happy too, Yipppeee!

Shawill False Eye Lashes

I am not new to using false eye lashes but I still have no post regarding this on my blog yet.  Last time I used simple falsies at work I was not able to take picture and last Thursday, at our office's 17th year anniversary, I had another chance to wear them.

I used Shawill False Eye lashes which I bought at SM San Lazaro department store.  It only costs me 59 pesos (HBC falsies costs much less :P ) plus the glue (I already forgot how much I paid for it).  I love the thickness and the length of this falsies,  they come in different thickness and designs.  I got the number 347 with just the right length for my taste.

It also has the step by step procedure at the back on how to put/use it! See!

I can say you can use it a multiple times just be careful taking it out of its box and from your lashes after using.  You just put it again in the box and use it for another look.

Here I am using the falsies.  Our group danced with the 80s songs and bright color it is, Madonna ang peg.

Me and Rochel

The falsies made my eyes look much brighter and awake.  I also did some of my office mates' make up!  MUA lang ang peg nyahahaha!  But the night was a blast and we did go home as the 3rd placer.  Wagi!

Have a great week end peeps!

Corn Muffins ala Kenny Rogers

And yes, it did tasted like those corn muffins from Kenny Rogers! Wagi!

I have these corn kernels which was only a free item from a grocery. From then on I searched for recipes over the internet where can I finally use it. And Alas, last week I browsed and browsed and my mouse led me to this food blog. The recipe said to be from the Top Secret Recipes. Really, super thank you!

And here's the recipe:

Kenny Rogers Roasters Corn Muffins

1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup frozen yellow corn

Procedure:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Cream together butter, sugar, honey, eggs and salt in a large bowl.
3. Add flour, cornmeal and baking powder and blend thoroughly. Add milk while mixing.
4. Add corn to mixture and combine until corn is worked in.
5. Grease a 12-cup muffin pan and fill each cup with batter. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until muffins begin to turn brown on top.

I had to do some changes with the recipe though, I used canned whole corn kernel and Kosher salt in this recipe.  Also I had a hard time finding cornmeal!  I got my cornmeal from Healthy Option and shocked that they do sell reasonable priced items too.  I have to go back and make some time to see what other stuff they sell.

Super moist and nuggety (if there's such a word)!

My tasters, hubby and office mates really did liked it!  Will make another batch soon, because someone requested me for this tasty corn muffins.

Success!

Have a great Tuesday even if its raining down here.  God bless us all!

Maruyaaa.... Anyone?

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  :P

Yes, cooking time once again and I made Maruya or Banana Fritters yesterday.  I had 3 pieces of Saba (Banana Plaintain) in excess of the dish my mother cooked last Saturday.  And so I thought of making Maruya for the hubby.

Maruya is my all time favorite merienda (afternoon snack) when I was a kid and until this day.  I love the crunch of the batter and the sweetness of the banana, just right for my sweet tooth hehe!

I got this recipe at Favorite Filipino Recipe here.

Ingredients :

1/2 cup flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 cup milk
3 ripe saba (banana plantain), peeled and sliced lengthwise
2 cups vegetable oil
flour, for dredging · sugar

Cooking Procedures :

In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add milk and egg, beat until smooth.
Heat oil in a frying pan (or a large saucepan) over medium heat.
In batches, roll banana slices in flour and then dip in batter. Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels. Roll in sugar. Place in a serving dish and serve.

a little bit burnt.... but this is heaven.

And yes it's Father's Day yesterday!  I mean this is a day for all Father's to enjoy every single minute, right?  To my Tatay, we love you so much.  I thank you for your never ending support to us.  You may not be perfect but we love you still!

I LOVE YOU TATAY KO!

Happy Monday!

Simple Wednesday

I try not to put too much make up as much as possible whenever going to work.  I break out easily when I put too much coverage along my T zone.  I have also missed blogging about anything makeup too,  I have been challenging depriving myself not to go to malls and buy because I still have a lot in my stash.

Here's my Wednesday look!

I love strong eyebrows a lot.  It frames my face and make me look younger.  I just put on MAC concealer (only on my visible blemish), a thin layer of Maybelline liquid foundation, brown eyebrow powder, Revlon Brown eyeliner, NYC liquid eyeliner, MAC blush, NYX soft matte creaam in Milan and dust on of Loreal mineral powder.  And of course the BIG SMILE!

Hope everyone a wonderful day ahead.
